Is money making blogging possible? Is it possible to work only with blogs? You can not even imagine how many times, in these +9 years in the blogosphere, I’ve heard or read that question. The emails and questions on the social networks, then, are not even talked about. There are dozens a week. You have no idea how hard it is to talk to someone through your Facebook inbox or Google+ chat and explain in detail that you can make money from blogging.
That’s why I at Digital to Human decided to write this article. So from now on, I can refer people to this article. It will be more productive for everyone.
Instead of just stating that it is possible to make money from blogging – that everyone already says – I will do differently. I will list a few lies that people like to spread about making money from blogs and that push serious people away from this digital business so promising. In the end if you have any more lies to add, just use the comments.
1 – There is a secret formula
The human being likes to be based on formulas, from seeking hidden secrets that opens every door. With that in mind, many training sessions have focused on the word “formula” or “secret” to leverage sales.
This ends up giving the false impression that if you can not make money from blogging, that is why you have not yet found the secret formula or business secret. When you find it, everything will be solved, in a magic trick.
I feel I’m the bearer of bad news, but I’ve been working with blogging as a business since 2008 and there is no secret formula or secret kept secret. A brief internet search on serious blogs about making money from blogs and you will understand that it is necessary to create a blog in a specific niche, work with email marketing and affiliate marketing (Hotmart, CJ, ClickBank) and of course with affiliate programs like Google Adsense, 24 Hours Courses, Hotwords and others.
2- Affiliate marketing does not work
Work with indication of products or infoproducts only with email marketing. In blogs this does not work. This is another big lie. The blog, when created within a broad strategy that also includes a niche search and the creation of an email marketing list and correct selection of products or infoproducts to divulge, can indeed give great results.
Of course just putting a banner on the sidebar of your blog and waiting for dozens of sales a day will be frustrating. Will not happen. But if you also work on the reviews and create specific landing pages you may be surprised by the power of generating results from a blog with affiliate marketing.
3- Google Adsense is no longer worth it
Many still create blogs with the total focus on the Google Adsense affiliate program. And many believe that this program is not worth more. This is one of the big lies about making money from blogging.
The wrong point is to create a blog thinking about just working with Google Adsense. A more wrong point is still to create a blog and not test if your niche gives results with Google Adsense. Another mistake is also to invest in just one type of blog monetization. Either put GA or Affiliate Marketing. It should not be like this, ever.
4- You need to understand a lot about the subject
To create a blog in a particular niche, many make you think you need to be an expert on the subject. This makes you give up, often, starting a blog or starting a blog with a subject that you like a lot.
This is a lie. A lot of bloggers learned on the subject would test and then write an article.
That’s the difference. You become a subject matter expert, researching, testing, and learning what is right and what is wrong within the subject. Of course there are niches where you can not do that. For example, how to create a weight loss blog if you are not a professional in the area? Or how to talk about treating illness if you are not a doctor or healthcare professional? In these cases you will end up copying third party content, which will hurt you a lot, as plagiarism is a crime and a business created with an illegal basis can not last long.
5- It is necessary to create a network of blogs
This is another big lie. You do not need to have 50 blogs to make money from them. What you need is to have a strategy of creating blogs as a business, like teaching Digital Marketing strategies. Understand that you are creating a business to last for many years and not just a blog. If you create a strategy, you will know that you should create a blog, monetize it, then create an email marketing list, use the blog to capture the emails, and then work to monetize that list with infoproducts or physical products.
I know a lot of former bloggers who got tired of it all. Do you know why? They created a dozen blogs to make some money and then got tired of the huge amount of work they had every day to update all blogs and manage the audience. This is hard, tiring work that makes you want to stay well away from a computer for a long time. Do not want this for yourself.
Below are a few resources that will help you on your path of making money blogging.

Here are 10 ways that work to make money online these days
1 – Join an Advertising Program
There are lots of advertising programs available for bloggers to join. One of the most popular online advertising programs and possibly the easiest to set up on your blog is Google AdSense, which offers a variety of pay-per-click text, display, and video advertising opportunities for bloggers. With a bit of effort, experimenting, and tweaking you can definitely make some money with Google AdSense. You can make money with a simple click on an ad on your blog.
2 – Join an Affiliate Advertising Network
Many companies offer programs that enable you to sign up as an affiliate of that company and everytime somone buys something through a link on your website, you make money. Amazon Associates is one of the most popular and easiest affiliate advertising programs for bloggers to use. There are a number of affiliate advertising networks that link online advertisers with publishers (such as bloggers). Commission Junction, known as CJ is one of the most popular affiliate advertising networks.
3 -Sell Your Own Ad Space Directly to Advertisers
You can attempt to sell your own ad space directly to advertisers, but unless your blog is established with a sizable audience, it can be difficult to manage and make money selling ad space directly. Fortunately, there are sites like BuySellAds.com that link online publishers (like bloggers) up with online advertisers to make selling your ad space easier. Graham Cluley and Brian Krebs are two good example of Information Security experts that sell ads directly to Security companies on their blogs.
4 – Publish Posts and Reviews for Pay
You can write blog posts on your own blog in exchange for pay, and there are several Web sites that link online publishers (such as bloggers) up with companies and individuals who want their products and services reviewed or discussed online. Just be sure to understand how to safely publish a paid post or sponsored review on your blog, so you don’t negatively affect your blog’s traffic.
5 – Sell Products
There are a number of Web sites that make it extremely easy for bloggers to create their own online stores where you can sell custom or stock merchandise and make money doing it! CafePress, Zazzle, and Printfection are three of the most popular sites for creating your own online store.
6 – Become a Professional Blogger
If you write well and can work autonomously, then you could work from home as a professional blogger! Fortunately, there are many sites where you can search for paid blogging jobs. Keep in mind, blogger pay rates can vary drastically, so make sure any opportunity you take matches your long-term blogging goals.
7 – Make Money without Ads by helping and servicing your users
There are a variety of ways that you can make money from your blog without publishing any ads on your blog at all. You are an expert at something. Help your users with a service and that might be your niche: build websites for companies and Small Business in your area, get a long term contract managing your local friends business on social media, sell pictures to your lawyers blogs, help your accountant get some new business by referring him to friends.
